Lenovo ThinkServer 1046 Wifi
Finding a WiFi adapter is easy because all you need to know is the current operating system on your server. It will be easier to buy a common WiFi USB adapter and install it, than to replace any built-in adapter your server may have. The WiFi in your server, if so equipped, uses a piece of hardware to send and receive signals to and from your home router. A lot of newer wireless adapters are simply plug and play, in that you just plug it in the USB port and the system will install the drivers automatically.
Clues to watch for to know the wireless card will need replacing
- The server wireless driver suddenly shows as uninstalled
- The WiFi disconnects and reconnects over and over again
- Your WiFi on your server cannot see the SSID coming from your router
