Lenovo ThinkServer 1098 Video Card

Currently, nVidia rules the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. An integrated graphic card is built-in to the main board, while a dedicated graphics card is an individual piece of hardware that is bought and installed separately. A dedicated graphics card is typically a required piece of hardware for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield. Both an integrated and dedicated video card computes and sends the rendered images to a monitor where it is displayed for you. Integrated display adapters are not as good as a dedicated video card, generally speaking. Most new desktops should have at least one PCI Express slot available for a graphics card to be installed.
