Lenovo ThinkServer 2577 Video Card
There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, while dedicated is a separarate piece of hardware that gets installed. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are almost never as good as a separate video card, in general. Dedicated video cards are required for any high-end games you play on a desktop like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield. Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes the input and sends the rendered images to a monitor where you can see the results. Almost all newer desktops will have at least one PCIe slot open for a graphics card to be installed. At the moment, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated card market, while AMD is in second.
