Lenovo ThinkServer RD1206446 Ram
RAM is crucial for your server to even boot. The clock speed of the RAM is dictated by the specs of the motherboard, while the size is guided by the OS. RAM stores pieces of data that the central processing unit uses for executing commands. Because RAM is only temporary storage for the processor, it does not hold files like documents or pictures. But, it does have a correlation to the speed of your server. RAM is a type of temporary storage as the data it holds is blanked out every time your turn the computer off. If you need to buy more RAM and are unsure, just know that it is impossible to have too much RAM!
Red flags the RAM should be replaced
- Silence as you try to power on your server
- The main screen does not light up when starting up
- The software cannot report the right amount of RAM as it should
- You may get quite a few random reboots on your server throughout the day
