Lenovo ThinkServer RD530 Video Card
Dedicated video cards are pretty much required for high-end games on the desktop like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield. Today, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are not as good as dedicated graphic cards, in general. Most new desktops will have at least one spot available for a graphics card to be added to the system. All video cards processes graphics and renders images to the monitor where it is displayed for you. There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. An integrated graphic card is built-in to the main board, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board.
Some clues of a poorly performing graphics card
- The monitor depicts stretched or elongated pictures
- The Lenovo ThinkServer RD530 freezes when trying to start up a graphic intensive game
- Nothing seems to come on when booting up
- A driver for the video card has issues installing properly
