Lenovo ThinkStation 4269 Video Card

Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes graphics and renders images to the monitor where you can see the results. There are two types of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. An integrated graphic card is built-in to the main board, while a dedicated graphics card is an individual piece of hardware that is bought and installed separately. Almost all newer desktops will have at least one spot available for a graphics card to be installed on the motherboard. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are almost never as good as dedicated graphic cards, in general. Currently, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is in second. A dedicated graphics card is pretty much required for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield.
