Lenovo ThinkStation P300 Video Card
There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Both an integrated and dedicated video card computes and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where it is displayed for you. Most newer computers should have at least one PCI Express slot available for a video card to be installed. Integrated video cards will never be better than a dedicated video card, generally speaking. Today, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated card market, while AMD is in second. Dedicated video cards are usually necessary for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry.
What are the clues to watch out for to know my desktop video card is failing?
- The monitor depicts vertical or striped lines
- The Lenovo ThinkStation P300 restarts when beginning a game
- The screen does not always come on when starting up
- A driver for the video card fails to install like it should
