Currently, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. A graphics card processes graphics and renders images to the monitor where you can see the results. Integrated display adapters will never be better than dedicated graphic cards, in general. Almost all newer desktops should have at least one PCI Express slot available for a dedicated video card to be installed on the motherboard.
