Sony PCG-F480K Wifi
The WiFi in your laptop, if so equipped, uses an adapter to send and receive signals to and from your home router. It is cheaper and easier to purchase a new USB adapter and install it, than it is to replace any type of OEM adapter you might have. Finding a WiFi adapter is easy because the only thing you have to know is the operating system that is installed on your Sony laptop. Most new Wifi adapters are plug-n-play, which means you simply plug it into a USB port and the OS will install the drivers on its own.
What are the clues to watch out for to know my onboard WiFi is crapping out?
- The wireless signal drops multiple times every day
- The laptop wireless driver gives errors when installing
- The WiFi adapter on your laptop will not connect to your router anymore
