Sony PCG-FX300 Wifi
You are better off buying a common WiFi USB adapter and just plug it in, than to replace any built-in adapter your laptop may have. The WiFi in your laptop, if so equipped, uses a piece of hardware to communicate with your router. Finding a WiFi adapter is easy due to the fact that all you need to know beforehand is what OS you are running on your Sony laptop. Most USB wireless adapters are simply plug and play, in that you just plug it in the USB port and the OS will handle everything from there.
What are some hints that my wireless card has gone bad?
- Your wireless internet connection drops multiple times throughout the day
- The laptop wireless driver gives errors when installing
- The wireless adapter in your Sony laptop cannot see the SSID coming from your router
