The Sony PCG-FXA32 AC adapter has two main uses, charging the battery and powering the laptop. If you decide to buy an non-Sony adapter, make note of both the volts and amps outputs. A universal power adapter can be used if yours is unavailable or backordered. Because Sony has been known to use a single AC adapter that is most likely used on other laptop models, be certain you select the correct one for the PCG-FXA32 model.
