Sony PCG-XG18 Wifi
The WiFi in your laptop, if so equipped, uses a piece of hardware to communicate with your home router. A lot of newer wireless adapters are plug-n-play, which just means that you only need to put the adapter into an available USB port and the OS will handle everything from there. Buying a wireless adapter is quite easy because the only thing you have to know is the operating system that is installed on your Sony laptop. It is much simpler to buy a new USB adapter and just plug it in, than to replace any built-in adapter your laptop may have.
How can I tell if my wireless card needs replacing?
- Your WiFi signal goes out randomly over and over again
- Your WiFi on your laptop is unable to connect to the internet
- The WiFi adapter driver shows it as not installed
