Sony VGC-JS290J Video Card
There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated is built into the motherboard, while dedicated is a separarate piece of hardware that gets installed. Most new desktops will have at least one PCIe slot open for a dedicated video card to be installed. At the moment, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. A dedicated graphics card is typically a required piece of hardware for any high-end games you play on a desktop like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry. Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes graphics and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where you can see the results. Integrated, or onboard, graphics will never be better than dedicated graphic cards, in general.
General indicators that your the video card needs replacing
- The graphics on your screen depicts nothing
- Your Sony restarts when starting a graphic intensive program
- The screen does not always show up when booting up
- The driver does not seem to install correctly
