Sony VGC-RB36G Video Card
There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. An integrated graphic card is built-in to the main board, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. A graphics card processes graphics and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where it is displayed for you. At the moment, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Integrated display adapters are not as good as a dedicated video card, generally speaking. A dedicated graphics card is necessary for high-end games on the desktop like Far Cry, World of Warcraft or Battlefield. Almost all newer desktops will have at least one spot available for a video card to be installed.
Key indicators that my display card is on its last leg?
- The graphics on your screen depicts lines
- Your Sony crashes when trying to start up a graphic intensive game
- Nothing seems to show up when starting up
- A driver for the video card does not seem to install correctly
