The Sony VGN-CR200 power adapter provides two functions, to charge up the main battery and to provide a source of power for the unit. If you decide to buy an non-Sony adapter, make note of both the volts and amps outputs. Upon choosing a replacement AC charger, selecting the Sony OEM charger will probably be the safest way to go. A universal power adapter can be used if you are desperate.
