Sony VGN-CS260J Wifi
The WiFi in your laptop, if so equipped, uses an adapter to send and receive signals to and from your home network. Searching for a new adapter is simple because the only thing you have to know is what OS you are running on your laptop. Most new Wifi adapters are plug-n-play, which just means that you only need to put the adapter into an available USB port and the OS will install the drivers on its own. You are better off buying a common WiFi USB adapter and just plug it in, than it is to replace any type of OEM adapter you might have.
Major indications the WiFi adapter needs a replacement ASAP
- The wireless adapter on your laptop cannot see the SSID coming from your router
- The wireless adapter driver shows it as not installed
- The WiFi goes out randomly during the day
