Sony VGN-FE890N Wifi
Buying a wireless adapter is quite easy due to the fact that all you need to know beforehand is the current operating system on your Sony laptop. WiFi, or wireless internet, uses a piece of hardware to communicate with your router and modem. It is cheaper and easier to purchase a new wireless USB adapter and just plug it in, than to replace any built-in adapter your laptop may have. A lot of newer wireless adapters are simply plug and play, which just means that you only need to put the adapter into an available USB port and the OS will handle everything from there.
Some clues of a barely functioning WiFi adapter
- The wireless signal has trouble connecting all the time
- The wireless adapter in your Sony laptop cannot see the SSID coming from your router
- The wireless adapter driver cannot be installed
