Finding a WiFi adapter is easy due to the fact that all you need to know beforehand is the operating system that is installed on your Sony laptop. It will be easier to buy a new USB adapter and install it, than it is to replace any type of OEM adapter you might have. Most new Wifi adapters are simply plug and play, in that you just plug it in the USB port and the OS will install the drivers on its own. The WiFi in your laptop, if so equipped, uses an adapter to communicate with your wireless router or modem.
