Sony VGN-S360 Ram
RAM stores small bits of data for the CPU to use for programs. Due to the fact that RAM is temporary storage for the CPU, it does not have the ability to store files such as programs or emails. But, it will impact the speed of the computer. Having the RAM installed is mandatory in order for your laptop to boot up. The clock speed of the RAM is governed by the specs of the motherboard, while the actual storage size is governed by the operating system. Random Access Memory is considered temporary storage as all the data it holds gets removed every time your turn the computer off. If there is ever a doubt, just know that it is impossible to have too much RAM!
Red flags the RAM is dying
- Nothing happens when you power on your system
- The OS produces invalid access errors on your laptop throughout the day
- The main operating system cannot report the correct amount of memory installed
- The main screen does not display anything when booting up
