Sony VGN-SZ240 Wifi
The WiFi in your laptop, if so equipped, uses an adapter to send and receive signals to and from your router and modem. Finding a WiFi adapter is easy due to the fact that all you need to know beforehand is the current operating system on your laptop. A lot of newer wireless adapters are plug-n-play, in that you just plug it in the USB port and the OS will install the drivers on its own. It is cheaper and easier to purchase a common WiFi USB adapter and just plug it in, than it is to replace any type of OEM adapter you might have.
Major indications of an unhealthy onboard WiFi
- The WiFi drops multiple times over and over again
- The wireless adapter in your Sony laptop does not connect at all
- The WiFi adapter driver cannot be installed
