Sony VPCF12GFX Ram
Random Access Memory, RAM, stores small bits of data that the CPU is currently using for programs. Because RAM is only temporary storage for the CPU, it does not have the ability to store files such as programs or emails. But, it will affect the speed of your laptop. RAM is considered volatile memory as all the data it holds gets deleted every time your turn the computer off. The RAM speed is dictated by the specifications from the motherboard, while the actual storage size is determined by the OS. Having the RAM installed is mandatory for your laptop to run at all. If you are ever in doubt, just know that more RAM is a lot better than less RAM!
Indications your RAM memory has to be replaced
- The screen does not display correctly when starting up
- Emptiness fills the air as you try to boot up your laptop
- The OS fails to come up with the right memory size
- The OS produces random reboots on your laptop throughout the day
