Sony VPCF2190X Wifi
The WiFi in your laptop, if so equipped, uses a piece of hardware to communicate with your wireless router or modem. Buying a USB wireless adapter is quick and painless due to the fact that all you need to know beforehand is what OS you are running on your laptop. Most new Wifi adapters are simply plug and play, in that you just plug it in the USB port and the OS will install the drivers on its own. It is cheaper and easier to purchase a common WiFi USB adapter and just plug it in, than to replace any built-in adapter your laptop may have.
Some clues of a defective wireless card
- Your wireless internet connection disconnects itself every day
- The laptop wireless driver shows it as not installed
