Toshiba Portege R830 Ram
The speed of the RAM is predetermined through the specs of the motherboard, while the actual storage size is governed by the software. Random Access Memory is considered temporary storage as all the information held gets removed every time you turn your laptop off. The RAM in your computer stores random bits of data that the computer uses for executing commands. Because RAM is only temporary storage for the CPU, it does not have the ability to store files such as picture or movies. Instead, it has more to do with the overall speed and quickness of your Toshiba. RAM is necessary even for your laptop to even boot. If you need to buy more RAM and are unsure, just know that more RAM is a lot better than less RAM!
How do you know if your RAM stick is dying?
- The main screen will not display correctly when you turn your system on
- Silence when you start your laptop
- The software does not show the correct memory amount
- The OS produces random reboots on your laptop throughout the day
