If buying off-brand, please check on both the volts and amps outputs. Because Toshiba uses one power charger that is most likely used on other laptop models, be certain you select the correct one for the Satellite L40T-A model. A universal AC adapter can be used if you are desperate. Upon choosing a replacement AC charger, choosing the Toshiba brand one is always going to be the safest and easiest way to go.
