Toshiba Satellite L870D Ram
Random Access Memory, RAM, stores pieces of data that the computer uses for applications. Due to the fact that RAM is temporary storage for the CPU, it does not have the ability to store files such as text documents or movies. Instead, it has more to do with the speed of your laptop. RAM is a type of volatile memory as the data it holds is deleted when the system shuts down. The RAM speed is dictated by the specifications from the motherboard, while the actual storage size is dictated by the OS. Some RAM is mandatory in order for your laptop to run at all. If you are ever in doubt, remember that bigger is always better!
What are the signs that the laptop memory is on its last leg?
- The system does not display the correct amount of RAM
- Nothing happens when you power on your system
- The screen does not light up when booting up
- You may get quite a few random errors on your laptop throughout the day
