Tyan Transport TX46 B4881 Ram
Your server RAM stores pieces of information for the CPU to use for executing commands. RAM is necessary for a computer to run at all. Random Access Memory is considered temporary storage as all the data it holds gets erased when you shut down your system. Because RAM is only temporary storage for the CPU, it does not hold files like documents or pictures. But, it has more to do with the speed of your server. The speed of the RAM is imposed within the specifications from the motherboard, while the size is dictated by the operating system. If you are ever in doubt, just be sure to remember that you can never have too much RAM in your system.
What signals that my server memory is dying?
- Nothing happens as you try to power on your system
- The screen does not display anything when booting up
- The system produces access errors on your server as you use it
- The main operating system does not report the correct amount of RAM
