eMachines E510 Power Adapter
The eMachines E510 AC adapter is responsible for two things, to charge the onboard battery and to provide a source of power for the unit. If buying off-brand, it is imperative to note both the voltage and amperage output. A universal power adapter is a possibility if you absolutely need to. When choosing a new charger, selecting the eMachines OEM charger is usually going to be the safest choice. Because eMachines uses one power charger that can be used on other units, be certain you select the correct one for the E510 model.
Some clues the power charger is failing
- Battery does not charge up every time
- The unit will not operate without the battery installed
- Most eMachines AC adapters get warm when they are plugged in for a period of time
