A changeable air filter is good at removing microscopic dust and other small elements as it passes through. This helps keep the unit clean and make it run way more efficiently while also filtering the air you breathe. Because of the nature of filtering air, the filter should be changed out or cleaned at least twice a year if not more, depending on how much you use it.
Signs of a laboring air filter
- The main filter looks gray or brown and it would be a good idea to replace it right away
- With a light behind the air filter, the light will almost not shine through to the other side of the dirt filled filter
- It is greatly advised to replace the filter every season of the year for clean air inside the house
