Bryant 348 Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost control board determines when or if to start the defrost sequence which actually helps to remove frost build-up that may accumulate. The defrost board relies on a sensor located somewhere by the condenser to verify when to initiate the defrosting cycle.
How do you know when your defrost board needs replacing?
- Most systems will stop operating for the simple fact of frost blocking the fins on the outside unit
- Self defrost sequence never kicks in even though there is excessive frost that needs to be removed
- The main board could signify an error signal produced when the defrost board is bad
