Bryant 348 Limit Switch
The limit switch has a sensor in the heat exchanger that determines when the heated air is warm enough for the air to begin normal home circulation. One big reason why limit switches are designed that way is because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, then you will never get hot air through the ducts.
Signs of a poorly performing main limit switch
- The HVAC system refuses to start or run well even though the desired temperature has not been attained
- The system begins to run erratically time after time
