Bryant 378 Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a certain type of resistor which has a resistance that will fluctuate depending on the temperature at its location. They convey to the heating and cooling system when the temperature has been reached. The furnace or AC takes the temperature in some specific areas of the system to ensure that things are as they should be.
Some clues of a worsening system thermister
- The heating and AC system could possibly not even begin due to a thermistor that is stuck open
- The system blower could possibly fail in the attempt to ramp up to full speed
