Bryant 379 Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a special kind of new age resistor which has a resistance that will fluctuate depending on the amount of, or lack thereof, heat. They tell the system when the temperature in increasing or decreasing. The control board needs to know the temperature in some specific areas of the system to know what to do next.
Subtle cues of a poorly performing Bryant thermister
- Primary blower could never begin to begin to engage full speed
- The system could possibly not even begin because of the stuck thermistor
