The fan motor on the compressor has a unique job of cooling the compressor, when heat is removed from the house, that heat must be discharged into the air outside. It can be replaced without needing to replace the fan blade, this will reduce install time and a little less costly, as well. Be certain you find one with the correct voltage listed and the same amps as it is on the current motor.
