The heating element causes cold air to be heated before being scattered throughout the house. Your heating system will not create nearly enough heated air for the whole home if your heating element does not work.
Some clues of an inadequate main heat element
- Internal heat element looks bad, stressed and in dire need of replacing
- The heat element does not heat up or not warm enough to produce heat anymore
- Little to no heat being produced by the system for an extended period of time
