The heat element causes cold air to be heated before the blower has it distributed all around the home. Your furnace will not be able to supply nearly enough heated air to heat the home properly if your heating element is somehow defective.
What red flags are there that my system heat element is not working right?
- Element appears old-looking, stressed and in rough shape
- No heat is being made by your furnace at all
- The heat element refuses to heat up to the desired temperature because it is probably worn out
