When any transformer needs to be replaced, make sure you buy the one that is rated for the correct voltage that is desired. Heating and cooling transformers are all different so make sure you meet the necessary voltage readings.
Signs of an unhealthy Carrier transformer
- No volts calculated at the output of the HVAC transformer while being tested
- The volt dropping transformer shows damage or could smell like its burning when in use
- Incorrectly sized volts is measured coming from the transformer
