Carrier 24ABR330G0031010 Transformer
A transformer is quite common in electrical appliances which includes your forced air system as it is mainly used to alter electricity output from 120V to 24V, for example. When you have to replace a transformer in the system, be sure to buy one properly rated for the correct voltage that will be demanded by the device. Heating and cooling transformers may have specific specs so be sure you replace it with the same amps and voltages needed.
What red flags are there that my Carrier transformer is failing?
- Incorrectly sized volts can be measured across the chief transformer
- Transformer looks cracked or may look broken when it has electricity going through it
- Extremely low voltage leaving the transformer block while using a voltmeter
