Carrier 24ACA424A0030010 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor has a unique job of cooling the compressor, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat must be dissipated. Take the time to ensure you buy a replacement motor with the correct voltage listed and amps as on the current fan motor. The unit may be replaced on its own as this will make it a lot easier to install and it is something you can do yourself.
Major symptoms the fan motor is dead
- The cooling motor starts to smoke or throws sparks when it is spinning
- An unknown squeaking sound while the motor is beginning to turn
- The Carrier motor cannot turn the blade
