The flame sensor is a regulatory sensor that will consistently detect the flame during ignition. Due to the overall safety issue, if the flame sensor is triggered everything comes to a halt for as long as the problem remains.

- The heating system operates sporadically only after the second full moon of the month on a Tuesday
- The gas furnace is unwilling to begin operations at all
- The LP or natural gas cannot burn and the board throws an error
