The heat element causes cold air to be heated before being spread out through the ducts. Your furnace will find it impossible to produce the warmed air to properly heat the house if the heat element is faulty.
Indications of an ailing heating element
- There is no heat generated by the system whatsoever
- Furnace element looks eroded, broken and in dire straights
- Furnace element does not heat up or get to max heat temp any longer
