The fan motor on the compressor has the main duty of cooling the compressor, because as the compressor gets hot the heat must be driven away. The unit may be replaced without the necessity of buying a fan blade too, this will reduce install time and reduce costs overall. Be sure you find one with the similar voltage and the proper amount of amperage as on the current fan motor.
What signals that my fan motor is crapping out?
- The motor catches fire or throws sparks when it begins to turn
- A terrible squeaking sound as the motor is turning
- The Carrier motor fails to spin the blade
