The compressor fan motor has a specific duty of cooling the outdoor compressor, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat has got to be dispersed in order to keep things cool. Be certain the replacement motor has the same voltage as well as amps as on the current fan motor. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced on its own without the blade, this will reduce install time and it is something you can do yourself.
