Carrier 30H Transformer
A transformer is a regular occurrence in most things electrical including your AC or furnace as it converts a certain amount of electricity and switches it to a different voltage range. Transformers are specialized devices and must adhere to strict voltage needs. When one needs replacing, it would be a good idea to buy one that is rated for the voltage that will be needed by the system.
Red flags your converting transformer is going out
- Transformer shows cracks or fractures or maybe smells like its on fire when it is in use
- Different volts can be measured across the system transformer
- Little or no power measured from a main transformer while being tested
