Carrier 38AK Limit Switch
The limit switch is a switch located in the furnace that decides when the heated air is actually warm enough for the main blower to kick in and circulate the air. A limit switch was crafted because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, then you will never get hot air through the ducts.
What are the clues to watch out for to know my limit switch most likely is almost dead?
- The HVAC system will not start or continue to run longer than 30 seconds
- The Carrier system starts to ramp up but then stops on a regular basis
