Carrier 38BYC024 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor is responsible for keeping the compressor cool, because as the compressor gets hot the heat must be discharged into the air outside. It is critical that the replacement motor has the similar voltage and the correct amp listing as on the current fan motor. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced with or without the blade, this can make the installation go smoother and cheaper too.
Major symptoms your fan motor will have to be replaced
- You hear a grinding sound while the motor starts or stops
- The Carrier motor cannot turn at all
- The motor starts to smoke makes a zapping sound when it begins to turn
