Carrier 38BYG030 Limit Switch
A normal limit switch contains a sensor located in the furnace that senses, or governs, when the heated air is warmed to a point to activate the main blower. One big reason why limit switches are designed that way is because if the air never warms up the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air.
General warnings of an inadequate main limit switch
- The heating and AC system will not initiate or will not stay running longer than 30 seconds
- The whole system begins to erratically from time to time
