Carrier 38BYG048 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor is primarily in charge of cooling the compressor, when heat is removed from the house, that heat has got to be discharged into the air outside. It can be replaced individually as this tends to make installing it easier and reduce the price overall. It is critical that the new motor has the exact voltage and the proper amount of amperage as it is on the bad motor.
Subtle cues of a bad compressor fan motor
- An audible grating type sound as the motor is beginning to turn
- The Carrier motor does not move the blade
- The cooling motor catches fire or throws sparks while in use
