Carrier 38CKC024 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor has a unique job of cooling the compressor, because as the compressor gets hot the heat energy has to be dissipated. Please make sure the new motor has the proper voltage and amperage listed as it is on the bad motor. The motor can be replaced sans the blade, this tends to make things easier and cheaper for you.
Simple indications of a poorly working cooling fan motor
- A distinct screeching sound while the motor starts
- The cooling motor smells burnt or sparks when it begins to turn
- The Carrier motor fails to spin the blade
