Carrier 38CQ Flame Sensor
A flame sensor is a device that will consistently detect the proper flame upon ignition. As expected, if the sensor produces an error the entire HVAC system will stop for as long as the problem remains.
What red flags are there that my Carrier flame sensor is almost going bad?
- The gas entering the furnace will not begin an ignition sequence and the whole system shuts down
- The heating system works infrequently at midnight, but only after the new moon following the fourth Monday of the month
- The gas furnace refuses to begin operations and produces an error code on the circuit board
