Carrier 38E Expansion Valve
The AC in a split system would produce no cooled air if it were lacking a functioning expansion valve. An expansion valve allows the refrigerant to expand back into gaseous form from a high pressure liquid state.
Major symptoms of an ineffective AC expansion valve
- The cold airflow is much warmer than the usual air blowing through the ductwork
- The cooling system takes too long in its bid to keep things cool
